    The seller has been attempting to unload this TV on ebay for a couple of years, with steadily decreasing asking prices. It's existence is an interesting footnote to Altec's history though, as messrs. Carrington and Conrow, former ERPI bigwigs, evidently founded Conrac prior to the purchase of Jim Lansing's company and the formation of Altec Lansing in 1941. I believe that Carrington remained principally involved with Altec while Conrow managed Conrac. This set may have been built by Conrac and marketed as an Altec product to leverage the public's recognition of the Altec brand. Conrac is still kicking, and some historical info is available on their site here:

    +1 Yeah this has been for sale for awhile. With first prices up into the thousands. If the seller wants to see what it is really worth should just sell it through auction with a reserve if he doesn't want it to sell for a few hundred and not the high BIN prices. IMHO !
